Fire Safety Training

The best way to prevent a fire is by training your staff to be fire aware and you are legally required to provide adequate training. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Article 15 states: 'A sufficient number of competent persons must be available to implement procedures for the safe evacuation of relevant persons from the premises...'

Our fire safety courses are run by qualified fire officers, and cover both classroom based training and 'hands-on' use of portable fire extinguishers on controlled, 'live' fires. We run two standard courses which satisfy the requirements of the RRFSO:

Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training

All employees should have a basic understanding of fire precautions and the actions to be taken in the event of a fire. The aim of our courses is to give an all round knowledge of what to do if a fire breaks out. The course typically takes 2-3 hours to complete and multiple courses can be run on the same day. Briefly, the course will cover:

• What action to take on discovering a fire
• How to raise the alarm
• What to do when hearing a fire alarm
• Who's responsible for calling the emergency services
• The location of extinguishers and escape routes
• Dealing with disabled persons and evacuation procedures

Fire Warden/Fire Marshal Training

Our Fire Warden Training course encompasses everything in our basic training package and in addition aims to: Give delegates an understanding of their responsibilities, duties and roles as a Fire Evacuation Warden. To give practical and theoretical knowledge to enable delegates to undertake and efficient and orderly evacuation.
