Sam Cooper

Sam Cooper

Management Accountant

Sam has spent the last ten years working in finance across different industries. He has a keen interest in continuous improvement and is on a mission to keep Fire Actions accounts team up to date and efficient. Outside of work Sam is a sports fan, enjoying combat sports and following Tottenham Hotspur. Although most of his free time is now taken up entertaining his children!

Jack Pell

Accounts Assistant

Jack previously worked in sales admin and for the past year has worked with purchase leger and procurement. The thing that Jack enjoys most about his role is feeling the achievement of knowing that his work has made a difference and seeing the results. He takes pride in his strong work ethic, passion to better himself, learn new things and considers himself to have a “memory like a sponge”. Outside of work Jack is preparing himself to become a first time dad and wants to get fit and into shape by returning to training Muay Thai.

Teresa Truss

Administrator

Teresa has worked in secretarial/administrative roles for over 30 years, the last 4 of those being with Fire Action. She is known to be the office’s Queen of Fire Risk Assessment Reports. Teresa’s family keep her incredibly busy and she often has the office girls cooing over photos and videos of her gorgeous granddaughter. In her spare time, she is most happy being outdoors in the fresh air doing activities such as gardening and coastal walks.

Niamh Arkins

Administrator

Niamh is new to the industry and has recently left a career in hairdressing to work in administration. She has said that the thing she enjoys the most about her career change is every day she is learning something new and is never sitting around twiddling her thumbs. Outside of work Niamh likes to spend time with her family, watching a good series on Netflix. She also uses her hairdressing skills for her friends and family, as this is still a passion of hers. Niamh is a huge animal lover and her pride and joy are her 2 pet cats, Teddy and Bonnie.

Although Emily has only been working at Fire Action for a short while, as one of the daughters to directors Paul and Louise it is safe to say her exposure to the industry is that of nearly 20 years! She works closely with the Service Team and enjoys communicating with the engineers. She is heavily invested in contributing to the future of the business and is enjoying learning the ins and outs of the industry. The creative arts are her absolute world and alongside her job at Fire Action is currently training to become a Dance Teacher.

Cassie Turner

Cassie finds that the best thing about the industry and her position in it is that she is constantly learning new things. Her role is incredibly varied as she gets to aid all areas of the company. There is not one person in the office who doesn’t think that Cassie is the No.1 Tea and Coffee maker of Fire Action Ltd. Cassie’s most interesting past time is her love of Zumba, she even used to teach it. The ladies, and even some of the men, have high hopes for a Friday morning Zumba Club to get everyone energised to make it through the last working day before the weekend!

Louise Garry

Director

Louise is one of the directors of the company with near 20 years in the industry. She is fully involved in the day to day running of the business with particular expertise in accountancy and the management of all office functions. Louise is excited about the future of the business following our expansion into the security sector. She has 2 daughters and her favourite way to keep fit is tap dancing, she has been a member of an adult tap class for 12 years. She is also inclined to a theatre trip and the odd one…or two, glasses of prosecco!

Paul Garry

Director

Paul is one of the Directors of the company and has worked in the fire protection industry for almost 30 years. He is passionate about the business and has a particular interest in developing technologies in Fire, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms and how these will influence the ways in which we all might interact with these disciplines going forward. He has 2 x daughters and lives for football. He is a season ticket holder at West Ham United and plays regularly, his other passions are food and wine, although not necessarily in that order!

Dave Keegan

Dave Keegan

Head of Business Development

30 years in the Security Industry including Police Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Fire investigation. Highly Effective Sales Director with vast experience in the design and sales of I.P CCTV systems, Intruder Alarms, Access control/Video Entry Systems, Fire and Aspiration systems. FIA qualified to modules 1,2 & 3 Fire Detection & Design, Advanced Detection Design and Advanced Fire Alarm Design and general System Design (2011 and 2014). Future author of ‘The things my kids do to annoy me’ and ‘There must be more to life than turning lights off and closing the fridge door’.

Kieran Dale

Business Development Manager

Kieran has been in the Fire and Security industry for 12 years. He originally worked as a telesales operative, who then became a Business Development Manager in 2014. Kieran is fairly new to Fire Action, he joined the company in November 2019 to help expand the business with his wealth of experience in Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Video Entry, Intruder Alarms and Air Sampling systems. Kieran is a more than competent system designer who enjoys working on larger projects. Being a life-long supporter of Liverpool FC meant that Kieran got very used to seeing his team “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”. He also enjoys spending time with the family going on holiday so that he can cannon ball into a swimming pool and take full advantage of the swim up bar!

Business Development Manager

Paul started his Fire and Security career back in 1998, and since then has enjoyed working on many projects large and small, from stately homes to garden centres to factories, mainly in and around the South East of England. What makes this job so captivating for Paul is the many fascinating people and industries he deals with; no two days are ever the same. Outside work he is very active in the Scouting world and is a qualified Canoe and Kayak instructor, and can often be found mid-winter with his paddling friends throwing himself down white-water rivers in the coldest, wettest parts of the UK – for fun, he tells us. Despite this seemingly suicidal tendency, Paul has been married for 31 years to a very understanding lady and has two daughters.

Business Development Manager

Matt started his working life by completing an electrical apprenticeship when he left school. Since then he has gradually made his way from Electrical Works to Fire & Security, starting out as an install engineer then moving into sales. Matt particularly enjoys the designing of CCTV & Fire Alarm systems as each prospect has different requirements. Starting life as a Northern lad in Yorkshire Matt gradually made his way down to the sunny South, first moving to Telford in the Midlands and now to where he lives in London. Matt loves to spend time with his wife and daughters, in particular family walks with the dog. He is a rock & metal enthusiast often going to concerts and plays his own electric guitar.

Project and Small Works Manager

Lee started his career in the Fire Protection Industry as an installation engineer and from there has worked his way up to the role of a Projects and Small Works Manager. What Lee likes most about his role as a project manager is that no two days are the same as there is always a new project to manage. He believes the only training he needs now is in “how to make the perfect cup of tea in the work place”! he lives with his partner of 12 years with their two boys of 6 years and 7 months so he has his hands rather full! When he is not working he enjoys days out with his family and is partial to the odd trip to Centre Parcs.

John Fletcher

John Fletcher

Surveyor

John joined Fire Action in April 2015 as a surveyor. Whether it be for Fire or Electronic Security, as every premises are different & client’s requirements diverse, John really enjoys the challenge of finding each customer the best solution for their individual needs. John has three sons who have all developed his passion for football & cycling, which most weekends results in the four of them coming home covered in mud from either a football match or a mountain bike ride – much to the annoyance of his very understanding wife.

Brian Vanderhook

Service Manager

Brian has been in the Fire and Security industry since leaving school at the age of 16… that is a whopping 41 years as of 2018! His role involves the day to day organisation of the jobs, liaising with customers, keeping a watchful eye over the warehouse and drinking lots of tea. Brian thinks the best thing about his job is the buzz of the unexpected, he never knows who might be at the end of the phone needing his assistance. Outside of work he is all about his family, his two lovely grandchildren are the apples of his eye. Yet another one of Fire Action’s football fans, Brian is heavily involved with a local non-league team in his role as Assistant Manager and Head Coach for Goalkeeping.

Wayne Weatherley

Wayne got into the Fire Industry after completing an electrical engineering course at 27 and subsequently joined Fire Action in 2011. His job is very hands on as it involves fault finding, repairing and testing/servicing all different types of fire alarm systems. He really enjoys the fact that he can visit lots of different places and meet people from all walks of life. Outside of work Wayne really enjoys music, singing and football. He mainly coaches/watches football although he does participate in the odd charity match for his local football team. His favourite holiday destination is Majorca where he loves to soak up the sun with his family.

Wayne has been in the Fire Industry for nearly 20 years. He most enjoys attending to and servicing fire extinguishers and keeping customers up to date with ever evolving regulations. He has been married for 20 years and is an avid sport follower, in particular he is a supporter of Leyton Orient and enjoys watching England play cricket. He also has a keen interest in history, particularly World War 2 military vehicles and tanks.

Pete Amos

Service Engineer

Peter joined Fire Action in 2005 and has worked in the fire protection industry for nearly two decades. He enjoys interacting with customers and always aims to provide helpful advice, drawing upon his comprehensive knowledge of fire alarm systems, emergency lights and fire extinguishers. Peter served for 17 years in the Territorial Army and often makes use of his experience when problem solving. He is a keen outdoor enthusiast and cross-country mountain biker.

Neil has 25 years+ experience in the industry and has worked at Fire Action for 14 years making him our longest serving employee. What he enjoys most about his jobs is the fact that no two days are the same. He loves the fact that he is always on the go be it working alone, or working in a team. Outside of work Neil has many passions such as the gym, food (although the two don’t always mix!) and is an avid West Ham supporter.

Senior Service Engineer

Andy is married with 2 x young children who keep him very busy when he’s not at work. He has a wealth of experience in Intruder Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems, CCTV Systems and Fire Alarms. He is particularly adept at Software/IT related/Network/IP/Wifi stuff that most normal people want to run away from, as fast as their legs will carry them. But our Andy, he loves a bit of “computer says no…….”!

Mark joined Fire Action in 2017 and has worked in the Fire Industry for almost 20 years. He really enjoys being able to deliver the individual needs of every customer. He also likes the fact that he is constantly on the go and on his feet as outside of work Mark is incredibly active. His particular hobbies include running, mountain biking and road cycling. Despite his active lifestyle however, Mark does love a nice holiday with his feet up on a sun lounger!

Dan is one of the Senior Engineers at Fire Action. He has worked in the Fire and Security Industry for over 14 years, working in both the domestic and the commercial market. Dan is motivated by helping the company succeed in achieving its goals and to contribute to its proficiency. He has a personal interest in keeping up to date with the latest industry standards to educate any current or prospective clients, as well as the employees of Fire Action.

Ben has been at Fire Action for over a year now and is training as a Fire and Security install and maintenance engineer. Since joining us, Ben has been on many training courses including; FIA, IPAF, ECS, CCNSG and has an up and coming course for Wagner Aspiration training. He is keen to learn and continue to develop of the Fire and Security Industry…and to carry on representing Fire Action as the baby face of the front line! In his spare time he enjoys to work on his pride and joy – his Turbo Mini Cooper S.

Systems Install/Maintenance Engineer

Andrew is the newest member of Fire Action’s installation/service team. He did an apprenticeship after leaving college and has since been in the Fire and Security Industry for over 5 years. When he’s not at work, Andrew enjoys his sports, especially Football and Gaelic Football and is an active member of Dulwich Harps GAA Club. If he’s not travelling up and down the country watching his beloved Charlton Athletic, then you’ll find him on the nearest football field trying to play it!

Trainee Systems Install/Maintenance Engineer

Tom likes being involved in working in a team which has a tight, family feel. He also really enjoys learning and mastering new skills so that he can build on his own knowledge and that of those around him. Outside of work he is an avid lover of sports with his main passions being going to the gym, motor bike racing and football. He has supported Arsenal since being a young boy which could cause a few problems for him at the monthly engineers meeting…! He also enjoys sailing, which doesn’t mix well with his crippling fear of whales!

Tom Dunn

Systems Install/Maintenance Engineer

Tom started his career as an electrician and had a very enjoyable time working in various sectors of the electrical industry. He decided to make the change to the fire industry to further his knowledge and experience, in a field he has always had a big interest in. Tom’s work here at Fire Action Ltd is very varied, in so far as has worked on large combined installations (Fire, Intruder, CCTV, Access Control, Disabled Refuge, Induction Loop systems) such as a new academy building in Essex, through to smaller local service jobs with long standing customers. In his spare time, he likes to have a game on his PlayStation 4. He also likes to play a bit of golf and go to a good air show.

Mike is one of the most recent members of Fire Action’s installation/service team and is keen to delve deep into all disciplines of the fire and security industry. In his downtime, Mike enjoys being active especially going to the gym and playing football, where he plays for Kings Hill FC. If he is not feeling up to the exercise, then he is never too far away from a beer or a glass of wine.

Senior Systems Engineer

Steve have been working in the industry since he left school. He began his career working on intruder alarms and has a strong knowledge of all the disciplines within the industry. One of the main things Steve likes about the industry is meeting members of the public and getting to know their story and particular needs. He likes being presented with a problem and turning it in to a solution, whether this is at the concept stage or at a job, years down the line. Outside of work, Steve likes to turn his attention to his family life, however he likes to keep up to date with the latest technology and interact as much as possible and is always looking for ways to utilise his findings within the company. His other hobbies include playing guitar, attending gigs as well as the pain of watching West Ham United.

Matt background started off as a workshop engineer. He has been in this industry for a few years but feels he is a very fast learner. He likes to describe himself as “The Matt of all trades” and is happy to look after any Fire, Intruder, CCTV or Access control system all the way from the install through to the servicing.
